  • In 1904, the famous cricketer WG Grace played at Queen’s Park in a match between Derbyshire and London County
  • Don Bradman played here for the Australians in 1930 and 1934
  • 16-year old Sachin Tendulkar scored 108* for India against Derbyshire in 1990
  • The bowler to bowl the first ball in First Class Cricket at the QP was George Arthur Davidson (Derbyshire) v Surrey in 1898. George was born in Brimington Common in 1866.
  • The Yorkshire pair, Brown (300) and Tunnicliffe (243), set the record of 554 for the first wicket in the County Game on 18 – 20 August 1898.
  • The ground witnessed a triple century when P.A. Perrin made 343* (including 272 in boundaries) for Essex in 1904
  • In 1948 a record 14,000 people watched the game against Yorkshire
  • In the Derbyshire v West Indies Match on 15th, 17th, 18th July 1950 Cliff Gladwin took 6-40 in the WI First Innings
  • In the 1950's more first-class county cricket was played in Queen’s Park Chesterfield than at Derby
