The 2024 Annual has landed.
Produced by Friends, it will be available at the Chesterfield Cricket Festival and, although it does not have a cover price, we would love it if you were to make a donation towards our work. It is packed full of great cricket stories again this year including an article about cricket during the Miner’s Strike, which was now 40 years ago.
Member’s Evening
A really good Member’s Evening tonight of Friends of Queen’s Park Cricket attended by Ryan Duckett and players from Derbyshire County Cricket Club, leaders from Chesterfield Borough Council and our President and Chair of Friends of Queen’s Park Cricket.
A great discussion about the cricket season ahead, Derbyshire’s plans and the Chesterfield Cricket Festival which begins on 30th June 2024. Plus a review of the past year of Friends.

The 2024 County fixtures see Derbyshire play Yorkshire in a 4 day County Championship match starting on Sunday 30 June, followed by a T20 match against Yorkshire on Sunday 7 July.
There will also be a Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy 50 over match between The Blaze and Southern Vipers on Friday 5 July.
I have updated the Fixtures section of the Friends website Fixtures Archive – Queens Park Cricket | Queens Park Cricket (fqpc.org.uk) with these fixtures and all the other games being played at Queen’s Park by Chesterfield Cricket Club and Derbyshire 2nd XI.
The definitive book about cricket played in Queen’s Park, Chesterfield. A hardback book with 48 photos and over 55,000 words. We are expecting the book to be published by May 2024. It will be available for sale at the 2024 Chesterfield Cricket Festival beginning on 30 June 2024.
